So, friday at noon a guy from work and I went down to Carsand-Mosher and looked at some lens filters. I picked up two filters. The first was a polarizing filter, and the second a neutral density filter. The polarize, you guessed it, polarizes the images. It removed reflection from non-metallic surfaces, and brings out the colors. The sky is more blue, the grass is more red. And trust me it works. Don’t believe me? Check out this picture I took on the weekend. Alot of the photos I took with it came out a bit dark so I had to retouch them in the gimp, but just to fix the darkness. The other filter, the neutral density filter, is a pretty fun one. It allows me to lower my shutter speed dramatically. It does this by letting less light in so that the image doesnt over expose, you can see this effect with these two photos, the first is without it, you can see the higher shutter speed by the water being all drops, the second has the slow shutter speed and the blurred water. Its very fun.
The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxed. Saturday I went for a bit of a drive but the weather turned us around and sent us back home. Beth and I went to see Knocked up, and we both really liked it.
Im downloading Fedora 7 at home and am hoping to get it installed on a computer by the end of the day. Well see what happens.
