Easy Portfolio?

March 26th, 2008 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So I finally have made my mind up on exactly how the portfolio system will look, and tonight I am hoping to get into it and finish it. I will not allow multiple portfolios in the same database, that will require multiple databases. I will however have a seperate section for skills, goals, etc. The resume page will be more of a automatically generated page. A resume consists (usually) of a opening paragraph, list of education, work, and skills. Since most of that will be handled in the site on different pages, the resume will just take that content and assemble it into a nice format. You of course will have to add your own details that are not on other pages, but all this will be in a very slick ajax-style admin page. Of course, there will be a easy installation, and this will all be super light weight, and yes, this will be open source, and yes, the source will be available online. I will probably open a sourceforge account and toss it up there, then after that just have a local copy hosted from this site. Outside of this, I have been very tempted to build a kind of personal organizer site. I know this has been done many times, but I want to do it myself. Just something with a notepad, todo list, and maybe more. The larger it gets the more features I could add, so the thought of this never ending, and always growing is a bit frightening, but then again, something that syncs with outlook might be a fun toy :)
