February 7th, 2008 · No Comments · The News

Looks like the release date for Vista SP1 and XPSP3 are out. Vista SP1 is expected Feb18, and XP SP3 is Mar 23. I don’t know what to expect for SP3, but SP1 should have some very massive improvements. Possible worth “upgrading” again. It looks like the next update to Vista has some serious back end fixs. According to APC this new service pack, will update the kernel so that is is much closer to the “longhorn” kernel that Vista was supposed to ship with. This has many people in fear that this will cause much more flaws in Vista than there already are, but people like myself are hoping that this makes Vista much different than it is. I thought Vista was supposed to be dramatically different than XP, and not just a shiny new skin and lots of new bugs. Maybe this is the start of that? Could you imagine if they just waited 5 years, finished the damn product, and released it they way they said they would at day 1?
