It sounds as if there is a MacBook Air update in the works, as Intel is building a new ultra low voltage chip that should replace Core 2 Duo chips that currently run them. Apple has stuck with the Core 2 Duo for several revisions now, which has confused many people considering the MacBook Pros uses i5 and i7 chips. Now, the reason that is likely behind this is the Core 2 Duo is a fairly low voltage chip, which would be required to allow the NVIDIA GPU chip. The rumor is that in June we will see these new MacBook Air’s, I’m hoping this is true because I’ve wanted to upgrade to a Air for a while but the old processor has been holding me back.

Free e-books for developers
December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments · The News
Whats this? A free gift from Apple? Well, even though its not a nice iPad, it is really nice to see some more free resources for developers; considering how expensive most technical books are even if these are watered down it is a nice touch.
Apple has released six developer guides for both iOS and Mac, and are available in the iBookstore. Topics include iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Object Oriented Programming With Objective-C, or Cocoa Fundamentals Guide. The other three titles are The Objective-C Programming Language, iOS Technology Overview, and finally iOS Application Programming Guide.
I once wanted to have an iOS app out this year; I bough my dev license and go ta few ideas going. However live because busy as usual and it never happened; these books will be a great help to hopefully get me to finish something.

I guess the iPad isn’t enough?
December 23rd, 2010 · No Comments · The News
An interesting article on Macworld UK about iPad owners. They are discussing how many iPad owners (17%, or roughly 1 in 5) have multiple tablets in there household. Most of these are due to spouses, or children however there is fair assumption that as new tables come out people will be buying them and passing down there old ones.
In addition to those that already own multiples, 19% of those that currently own one admit to wanting a second. Out of those that want a second, 71% say it will be another iPad.
And here I don’t even have one tablet in my house… Not even a cheap knock off

All MacBook’s to use LED’s by 2009
May 21st, 2008 · No Comments · The News
Within a day of my MacBook purchase apple release the newer and faster version. And now we can expect the 2009 will use the same (or very similar) LED back lighting that the air uses. This will be great for the environment (longer life, less manufacturing, etc) and also, longer battery life! (Though I can get a good 3 hours from my MacBook right now.

How much is $1300 worth?
February 6th, 2008 · No Comments · The News
Well, if you are buying a new macbook air, its not worth jack. The guys are Ars Technica got there hands on a SSD macbook air, and a regular one. And what were there results? The money you spend is all thin air (sorry for the pun). There tests proved that there is no real benefit. They gained very little performance and battery life improvments. This does’t make much sence to me, but, at least it proves the macbook air is full of hot air.

Finally, a iPhone with a big of storage!
February 5th, 2008 · No Comments · The News
I like the iPhone, but I’m a space whore. My 40GB iPod Video is over half full. Argue with me all you want about how much of this I use, it is still half full. I would be interested in the iPod Touch, or the iPhone alot more if it had a decent size hard drive. Well thankfully, there will now be 16 and 32GB models coming out soon.

The rumor mill is in full swing!
November 19th, 2005 · No Comments · Uncategorized
More rumors for the intel macs. According to Apple will be releaseing there intel ibooks at the macworld expo and the ibooks will even see a price drop of $200 (usd). This is pretty nice. Currently the 12″ ibook is $999usd (1249cad). If if drops down to $799usd (about $1000usd) that would be very nice. And the rumor of the 13″widescreen ibook is pretty nice aswell. However im still hoping for a intel iook with built in isight. That would be sweet.
