The future of Blockbuster may be revealed in the next few days, as the the new owner of the company will be decided this week. Blockbuster, who has been completely destroyed by companies like NetFlix, and services like the iTunes store has been in bankruptcy for a little while now, and a few companies are bidding to take over.
Dish network is just one of the players, and the current big is somewheres around $290 million. My only question is what the heck is somebody going to do with Blockbuster, because nobody rents DVDs these days and the last thing we need is another online video store.
If the latest iPhone update has caused your battery to drain a bit faster, it may be the addition of there Ping social network. If you never used this (or at least not on your phone), it may be a good idea to go into the restriction settings on your phone and disable it. While your doing that, you should look through what other services you never use, and disable them as well. For example if you never use the GPS, than disable it so that background apps don’t hit it and drain the battery.
It looks like there may be a nice upgrade to MobileMe in the works. For $20 a month we would potentially be able to store out entire iTunes library in the cloud. Now, I wouldn’t recommend deleting any backups or local copies, however it may be a great way to save space on your computer, while keeping a backup (at least one) on a external.
You can now donate to the Red Cross (to help Japan) from iTunes. You can’t use any store credit however you can donate $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or $200, and 100% of it goes to the Red Cross.
