For thoese of you who dont know what E3 is, please stop reading now and go to Cute Overload and look at the cute puppys. For the rest of us, theres some big news. E3 is, more or less, downsizing. Now, lets take a look at this. E3 is the largest convention of video games, consoles, and similar in the free world (cuba and china may have a larger convention for the un-free world). This is where the big boys (microsoft, sony, nintendo), and all teh game makers, spend all there budgets, and millions more, on a nice booth with pretty girls to draw press, and people to see there stuff. Its a magical and wonderfull event. Its great, if your a gamer, or even a generic geek, you drool over live coverege on g4 and other sources. However, something is happening. From what I understand, at least 1 big boy has said that they are not spending that much money. Thus the convention must get smaller, cause if one guy doesnt go, its gonna get pretty shitty. The reason they probably are slimming down is because of the people attending E3. E3 is notorious fore being a ass for letting people in. They go as far as asking for pay stubs and more. You can only get there if you work for a super big news paper, or a website like gamespot (my fav source), or even a dealer. So, basically, the problem si that lets say, sony spends millions on this booth to show the ps3, but, the only people that get to see this booth are writers, and store owners, and often the readers of these writers, are not the source they are looking for. Now, I just realized, I’ve been introduced here. I just thought I’d check up on what’s up here, and if Jeff has said anything “bad” about the XBOX 360 release being today. Yes, as he said, I am an avid Xbox gamer, and I will probably not be buying a PS3. Doesn’t mean I don’t like it, but I don’t see the point to owning more than one console. Shortly, after all the hype and lineups have died down, me and my brother will be buying an Xbox 360. Looking at the 360 Bundle with the 20 Gig hard drive, but not sure yet. The core system is too basic in my opinion, and the other ones that come with games seem pointless to me, for the added price anyway. Maybe after we get this, I will finally be able to put some distro of Linux on my Xbox. Now, on to why I was here in the first place. Xbox 360.

Can we stop talking about the xbox360 for 1 min, thanks. Ok, now remember when the ps2 came out, it was great, the best ever, but shortly later microsoft released the xbox, which was more powerfull and had better graphics. Microsoft was able to see the best and worse of the new playstation and then use that to there advantage. Well, in a few days the xbox 360 is going to be released in all its shame, I mean glory (can you tell Im a sony fan). Now sometime in 2006 Sony will release the sony ps3. They will be able to see the best and the worst of the xbox 360 and use that to there advantage. They will be able to make any last minute changes and inprove there console greatly. Im not going to be in line for a xbox360. However I probably will be in line for a PS3. Unless of coarse the PS3 is released the same time as the intel powerbook and in that case, ill be in line for the new mac. However the next paycheck ill be picking up a PS3.Dont get me wrong foalks, im not a hater of The xbox at all. I own a xbox and I admit its a good console. Im just gonna wait untill theres a good collection of games, and a price drop, than I will buy a refurb from EB games.
