The I.T. Life

IT's my life

About

What to say, what to say. I’m 20, male, and Canadian. I’ve lived all over this Country but currently reside in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My education is in computer programming, mainly application development, however my short time in I.T. has shown me quite a bit. I have done ASP.Net development, C# application development, PHP/MySQL web development, AJAX, DHTML, DB administration with mssql, and mysql. I have a few side projects on the go from a portfolio framework that is data driven and completely editable from a simple admin page to a media catalog that will include a .net windows application and a website. Aside from that, the rest of my free time does into photography. I shoot a Nikon D40x, and have a nice bag full of lenses and other goodies to go with it. I’m engaged to the love of my life, and other than that, I don’t really know what I want out of life. Everyone tells me I’m in a rush, but my answer is life is short, and I want to do as much as I can. I spend alot of my time behind a computer, but I try to counter this by going for alot of road trips throughout the maritimes. I frequently visit New Brunswick and PEI, and of course I have had plenty of trips throughout Nova Scotia. I’m planning on a drive across Newfoundland in the next year, but like I said, I don’t know what is gonna happen, in life, or later this week. So far its been a pretty good ride, as far as I.T. goes, I’ve had my share of experiences. I’m working for a web development company here now, working for some pretty slick clients like Comedy Central for example. I’ve worked for CGI, doing test automation for Bell Canada, and I’ve also worked for a small shop here in Halifax that worked in the airline security industry. I don’t really know what I want to do yet, I know I love to code, and I love where I work right now. Well just have to see what comes next I guess.
