The I.T. Life

So, technically I’m not unemployed yet… I am still being paid until Friday. I’m in Trenton now and just relaxing. I had a pretty busy weekend. Saturday was a wedding, a cousin of Beth’s I believe. Sunday we went to the citadel and wandered around downtown for a while. We went out to Sambro than back to Halifax. We met up with a few friends and watched the fireworks. Monday we went out to Peggy’s Cove and then went to the Tattoo. Tuesday I went into the office to clean out my desk and make a few phone calls. I had lunch at my place with a friend / ex-co-worker and we were talking about starting to do our own consulting. The PM that was let go with us seems to have quite a few contacts and can get a few pretty large contracts for work. Chris (the friend) is talking about making some decent cash off of it and says I’m welcome to join in. On top of that I hear from STI that I might be brought back either as a consultant, full time (later on), or (the most likely option) under the table work. Ill take any of that honestly. Yesterday after Chris left Beth and I headed up to Trenton. We went out to see Live Free or Die Hard and IMO, that is the best Die Hard flick yet. Today we went for quite a long drive down to Sheet harbor than back around. Then out to Melmurby beach and a few other places. On total last weekend I took roughly 6gb (probably around 700) of photos and today alone I took over 200. Im having some issues with my laptop right now so I might of lost all the photos from the weekend! Im hoping to recover them though. We will see. Tomorro I think I’ll head out to Antiganish. Im thinking ill be heading back to town Friday, cause I need to get ahold of Chris to see whats going on. Also, all this road tripping stuff is starting to slim down the bank account. I hear Beth so I’ll be singing off for the night. On a last note, I found a place in Nevada that teaches some serious defensive driving courses, Im talking escape and evasion courses for embassy drivers and stuff like that. They take civillians that have enough coin so, I’m thinking I might see a new career opurtunity here. I think private security in Iraq makes a few years salary in a few months.
